Ivano Ficalbi - Chief Executive
Joined the PGA in 2001 as an apprentice and was based at Woodhill Golf Club. In 2003 Ivano joined Kevin Stone at Centurion Golf Club and soon completed his PGA Apprentice Academic Programme. Ivano a fully qualified professional became the Head Professional at Mabalingwe G.C in 2003 and then at Pretoria Country Club. Ivano extended his role in the golfing environment and began his own company FORE Golf Event Management and entered into a merger with Dale Hayes Golf Events.
Andrew Gunn - Education & Training Manager
Andrew Gunn has been involved in the golf world all his life. A keen golfer at school, he qualified as a school teacher and taught English. He has held a tour card, played on the winter tour in its early years and completed his PGA of SA apprenticeship at Royal Jhb Golf Club. He coached and ran a small shop at Olivedale Driving range, for 6 years was the Secretary General of the PGA when the Club Pro Division split from the Tour Division of the PGA, coached golf in Germany and was Director of Golf at Royal Jhb + Kensington Golf Club for 7 years.
Andy Bean - Business Manager
Andy is the business manager and is specifically responsible for managing the rapidly expanding affiliate programme. His career includes being Retail Tribe General Manager Europe, Middle East and Africa, CEO of Matkovich and Hayes and WBHO Golf - a multidisciplinary company that has designed and built over 40 golf courses in Africa, CEO of three subsidiaries of EighteenGlobal (a worldwide golf ecommerce company) in South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States. Andy previously held positions at Golf Focus and Head Professional and Golf Director at Kyalami & Killarney Golf clubs. Andy holds a Bachelor of Science (Entomology and Genetics) & MDP (UNISA business school of leadership). Andy was a PGA order of merit player in 1996 and 1998 and was a Sunshine tour member.
Adrienne Thorne - Regional Admin Western Cape Region
Adrienne turned professional in 1981 and left for the UK in 1986 to complete the PGA training in England. Returning to SA in 1996, she joined the PGA of SA. She was elected to the WP PGA Committee in 1998 and spent 13 years on the committee, 10 of those as Chairperson and 4 years on the Board of the PGA. She has been on the full time PGA staff since March 2011 and is the Regional Administrator for the Western Province region.
Tracey Marais - Event Co-ordination and Administration
Tracey Marais started her career in the banking industry working for Nedbank. Then decided to spread her wings and went overseas to Au Pair in Holland. She so enjoyed working with children that she decided to open her own day care centre. After 5 years she opted to change her career completely by joining Dale Hayes Golf Events where she worked as an event co-ordinator for over 8 years. Tracey has joined the PGA to run the event side and assist with the administration.
Loraine Miller - Regional Admin KZN & Free State Region
Loraine comes from an administration and event management background. She has worked within the golf industry since 2004 when she was employed as a full time staff member by Matkovich and Hayes Golf Course Design and Construction as the Secretary to the Golf Course Architect, Peter Matkovich and Personal Assistant to the CEO, Andy Bean. Other responsibilities included Office administration and Events Management. Prior to that she worked in the hospitality industry for several years. Her responsibilities included managing guest relations, front of desk administration, conferences and wedding functions. She has been employed by the PGA on a part time basis to do the administration for the KZN region since February 2011.
Lauren Nolte - PA to Chief Executive
Originally from Cape Town, Lauren started her working career at the Erinvale Golf Club. After 6 years she moved to the Steenberg Golf Club. After leaving Steenberg, Lauren moved into the adventure tourism industry and spent 5 years in the position of office manager, personal assistant to the owner and guide for Extreme Scene Adventures and Tours. Looking to get back into the golfing industry, Lauren has joined the PGA team as personal assistant to Ivano Ficalbi.
Reneé van Castricum – Education and Training Administrator
Reneé has extensive experience in the Administration and Education sector, and has worked with several diverse personalities and demonstrates strong Public Relations skills. She has been a PA-Administrator with Anglo Platinum for over 21 years. She has for many years assisted and taught Adult Basic Education Training (ABET) within the workplace, as well as in less advantaged communities. She holds several diplomas, and is busy studying at present towards her NQF Levels in realty. Although new to the golfing industry we believe she has a lot to offer the Association.
Jacqueline Pitsoane- Membership and Administration Assistant
Jacqueline Pitsoane, a mother of 3 boys matriculated at Orlando West High School in Soweto and went on to study Tourism, Reception, Call Center Admin and Business Administration.
She gained her first work experience at HHK Earthing & Lighting Protection Systems as a Girl Friday and then worked for Wings Corporate Travel as a Frontline Coordinator. She joined Millward Brown as an Administrator and Assistant to the Office Manager. Jacqui joined PGA team on the 25th of April 2016, and we are hoping she has a long and successful journey with the Association.
