What led you to becoming a PGA Professional?

Robbie Chapman advised me in 2002 to also complete my PGA Apprenticeship to compliment my Club Fitting and Playing career. Robbie was my first mentor followed by Jamie Gough.

How long have you been in your current position?

Modern Web Presence turned 9 years old in May 2020.

What does your job entail?

A Business owner wear many hats!

Do you have any environmental or sustainability goals that you have met and would like to share?

Modern Web Presence’s foundation and purpose is to help and service local business which include the golf industry. We also started a free platform called “Travel Local SA” to help the hospitality industry during Covid-19. We also developed a new digital product called Linkify that combine with QR codes to give a contactless mobile solution, perfect for golf club menus and more.

Please give us a brief outline of the path you took to lead you to your current position Golf was always my first love and passion, playing and teaching the game for many years, locally and abroad. I saw an opportunity and gap in the market to help local business and particularly small business with their social media presence. Tech and gadgets was always my 2nd love and I went for it! MWP developed over the years out of request from people and local business to a “one stop shop” for digital services. Today Modern Web Presence is a digital agency with full-service offering.

Why do you feel that you would be a good candidate to win this award?

It would be a massive honour to receive such an award from my fellow PGA members. To start a business is not difficult, to start a sustainable business and grow it to employ 16 people with a wide client base in many countries require discipline, dedication, drive, focus and prayers! We are blessed to have celebrated our 9th birthday this year and survived the challenges of Covid-19.
