What led you to becoming a PGA Professional?	I wanted to play the Senior Tour and at the same time the PGA of SA acquired the education program from the UK, so I thought I would do the Education program to acquire the qualification and then try to turn my passion into a business.
How long have you been in your current position?	3 Years
What does your job entail?	I operate a high-end Custom Fitting Centre and this entails Fitting Golfers to enhance their performance using Tour Quality shafts and clubheads of all the popular and custom brands. I order and supply the aftermarket shafts and components through my wholesale company and supervise the builds of the clubs in my workshop. I liase with the overseas suppliers and keep our business up to date with the latest in technology through my partnership with Cool Clubs USA.
Do you have any environmental or sustainability goals that you have met and would like to share?	Not relevant to our business.
Please give us a brief outline of the path you took to lead you to your current position	I had to leave Wits University where I had my Driving Range and fitting facility due to them wanting the ground for Soccer. In negotiating the sale of my range equipment with The Morecorp group, the discussion led to me suggesting we set up a high -end fitting centre as there was nothing like it in SA. This led to a trip to the USA where I negotiated with 2 other Custom Fitting operations. We decided on Cool Clubs as the brand of choice. I then went back to the USA and worked with Cool Clubs in Arizona where I negotiated the rights for Cool Clubs for Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands.
Why do you feel that you would be a good candidate to win this award?	I am well respected in the industry and have trained many other PGA Pro’s in the art of fitting & building clubs. I also innovate by bringing in new technology and equipment to benefit golfers. I always try to look for new products and technology to make the game easier for golfers to enjoy. In turn I hope to grow the game.
